We regret the loss of Eldon who was a tireless leader sharing his knowledge for everyone to improve the Gouverneur community as a business owner and elected official.
 
The Hon. Eldon B Conklin passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at his Gouverneur home.  Mr. Conklin has served as a longtime Gouverneur Town Board member and as Town Chairman of the Gouverneur Republican Town Committee.  At one time, he was the Mayor of the Village of Gouverneur.  He was honored by the St. Lawrence Republican County Committee to receive the prestigious Betsy Kaplan Award in 2017 at the Silas Wright VFW Post 6338 in Gouverneur. - Nancy Martin
 
His experiences demonstrated to many in the local community his willingness to improve local conditions as Mayor and later as a Village Trustee and Town Councilmember.
